Turks and Caicos Jet Charter arranges private flights for designers, buyers, models, stylists and guests who need to get from the islands to the fashion weeks, and for teams bringing a shoot or a show down to Providenciales. If you spend the winter at a home on Grace Bay, a private flight lets you go to the shows and come back without giving up the rest of the season.
From the islands to the shows
The shows run to fixed dates in a few cities, and people in the industry often need to be in more than one of them in the same week. We plan the flight around your show times, including a late departure after the final presentation of the day. New York is about 1,150 nautical miles from Providenciales. For Paris or another city in Europe, your advisor will go through whether the aircraft can fly the leg nonstop or will need a fuel stop, which is the operator’s call for that aircraft on that day.
Room for the collection
Garment bags, rails, shoe trunks and sample cases take up much more space than the number of passengers suggests. On a smaller jet, the luggage area fills quickly. When you send us your dates, tell us how many pieces are traveling and how they are packed, and we will choose an aircraft that carries the team and the wardrobe together.
If the pieces are for sale or for a paid shoot, let us know early. Commercial goods are handled differently at customs from personal luggage, both in the islands and when you return home.
Bringing a shoot to Turks and Caicos
For a photo shoot or a resort show on the islands, the group can include models, photographers, hair and makeup artists, and a lot of equipment. We can fly the whole team down together, or arrange separate flights so the crew and the equipment arrive a day before the talent. When the equipment is the larger part of the load, a cargo charter is often the more practical way to move it.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Turks and Caicos-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Every flight into Turks and Caicos from the United States or Canada is an international trip, so you land first at an airport that can clear you through customs: Providenciales, Grand Turk or South Caicos. Almost every private flight lands at Providenciales, officially Howard Hamilton International Airport, where private aviation terminals clear you in away from the main airline hall, and a late arrival there can be arranged in advance. North Caicos, Salt Cay and Pine Cay only take flights from within the territory, Parrot Cay has no airstrip, and Ambergris Cay’s private airport is open by prior permission. The islands are on the same time as New York all year, and hurricane season runs from June 1st to November 30th, with September usually the most active month.
